Ya, I don't believe the hookup is replacing dating in the scare factor way they are describing it.
Particularly this:
Bogle says the hookup is what happens when high school seniors and college freshmen suddenly begin to realize they won't be marrying for five, 10 or 15 years.
Because all of our lives revolve around getting married and makin' babies.
From my (fairly recent) college experience, there were those who were just into casual sex/hookups... but the majority were not, and the hookup people looked desperate. And incredibly irresponsible.

There seem to be a lot of articles out there right now telling us that the days of romance/marriage/etc are gone, and now it is nothing but one night stands and baby mamas. I think some people are bitter about their past relationships turning sour.
