Every parent should say those words to their children.

What a great letter. Not just for her daughter but for everyone.

Sometimes it is SO hard to remember that no matter how bad things are, it passes. Especially when you are smack in the middle of it.

So let me get this straight. First she says:

But when you are young you don't know that even the awkward moments are fleeting. On this, you just have to trust the old people. Remember when you were really small and cried and cried over something? Well, it didn't last. That's kind of what it's like- awful things happen, you feel like there's a rock in the pit of your stomach, somehow time goes by and it gets better. I promise you, it ALWAYS gets better.
But then, all of a sudden:

The students, a girl and boy, who were involved in the taping and posting-- they are being charged with bias crime, invasion of privacy and possibly other things. Their college life is over. They will have to live with this death the rest of their lives-- and their families are devastated. What they did was so wrong- but also so kid-stupid. Not to mention mean. And so their lives will be different forever- but even so- their families will love them and they will have time enough to hopefully live in such a way as to make meaning from their mistake.
And then this again:

So, my beautiful girl, never, ever think something is unfixable. NOTHING you do will ever keep us from loving you. NOTHING you do could be so awful you can't get past it.
Am I the only one to see this?

Edit: Also, super-awkward moment for the daughter right now because her mom thinks she's gay, although she probably isn't.

Edit 2: Due to the poor punctuation and unlucky line break, I can't help reading this
But I also have to have a mommy moment-
bear with me here.
as her literally having mommy-moment bear with her; mommy-moment bear being some sort of pink teddy bear that always introduces mommy talk in that particular family by tradition.

It's called unconditional love. If your child doesn't know that by the time they are a teenager, or if you need to write it in a letter, you f**ked up as a parent.

Good point. Once your loved ones figure out that you love them, you should never have to say it again or in any way illustrate it. Otherwise you're just a f**ked up parent.

I don't know too many people that can take a heart warming moment and kind of just squeeze the life out of it until it's a cold, limp remnant of itself....kudos lol.
