Serendipity
Ever seen the movie Nights in Rodanthe with Richard Gere and Diane Lane? This is what the house ("Serendipity") looks like after the recent storms that swept through the Outer Banks of North Carolina (and this isn't the first walloping it's taken). Photographer unfortunately unknown, but they have some mad skills... The beach cottage (yes, that's what they call it there) was spruced up f... read full post picked by meggysue 2 weeks ago

ER Doc Glenn Singleton and his wife Heather Swan push the limits. "In addition to being a professional adventurer, Glenn is a multi-award winning documentary filmmaker and a practicing medical doctor with a special interest in fear." I'd say so!!

Pagan Politician Out of the Broom Closet
Queens NY GOP nominee Dan Halloran is not just any Pagan: he is the "First Atheling," or King, of New Normandy, which is the Greater New York Area branch of the Théod faith of pre-Christian Heathen religions.

No ordinary seafood, this!
The mantis shrimp lives on the Great Barrier Reef, and isn't a mantis OR a shrimp but a marine crustacean (Stomatopoda). They can grow over 12" long. Nicknames include thumb-splitters and prawn-killers b/c of their claws. Larger mantis shrimp can shatter an aquarium glass with one strike of its powerful claw. What a scary, but beautiful, creature. picked by meggysue 1 month ago

Tomorrow's DVD players might owe their optical superiority to the mantis shrimp. It's not a shrimp, or a mantis, but is one powerful crustacean. picked by meggysue 1 month ago
