Ok, so only 34 therapists et al. responded, and this is the average of their answers. They measured it from entry to ejaculation.
And then they had some laypeople respond, and they said 30 minutes. They said this is a recipe for disappointment.
I would bet money that the laypeople were thinking not in terms of entry - ejaculation, but session as a whole, including other forms of play.

Maybe the survey should have asked what is considered sex.

Sounds like some more work can be usefull on this survey. While it's interesting to know what 'some' therapists think, and what the few laymen thought, this doesn't conclude anything.
I say some proper research is needed, and probably will come after a while.
